Education Requirements
Because of the vast difference of amenities and living accommodations available, the training to run these facilities will vary greatly. Formal education in hotel management schools for management positions are usually awarded as an Associate Degree for both hotel management and hospitality management specializations.
Growth Statistics
Employment is sensitive to cyclical swings in the economy. During recessions, vacation and business travel declines, and hotels and motels need fewer desk clerks. Normal growth in the hotel and tourism industry is expected over the next few years.
